On November 13, Okanogan County released a draft Revision to the Comprehensive Plan, including maps, to the Public. The notice includes a SEPA Determination of Significance for the revised Plan and a Scoping Notice for the required Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). The Notice invites agencies, affected tribes, and members of the public to comment on the scope of the EIS. Comments on alternatives, mitigation measures, or other probable, significant, and adverse impacts related to the proposed Plan revisions are encouraged.

The deadline for submitting comments is January 4, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. Comments may be emailed to rrobbins@co.okanogan.wa.us

The County is legally bound by Superior Court stipulation to complete revisions to the Comprehensive Plan and Zone Code by December 31, 2018. It is clear the proposed schedule does not meet the deadline, and MVCC is discussing potential options with our partners. Our team is currently reviewing the revised Plan and maps. We encourage our members to check them out and send us your thoughts on whether the revised Plan addresses concerns about future water availability, wildfire safety or other issues.
