Engage in the Town of Winthrop’s Shoreline Master Program Updates

The Town of Winthrop is inviting the public to engage in an update of the Shoreline Master Program (SMP) which creates regulations pertaining to shoreline protection, use, and development. The updating of this plan will impact how land in the shoreline is developed into the future. If you recreate, live, or own land or a business along the Methow or Chewuch River in the Town of Winthrop you are encouraged to provide input on the update.

Begin by reading background information about the Shoreline Master Program and its requirements to comply with the statewide Shoreline Management Act (SMA). Then take the Shoreline survey–one tool the Town of Winthrop is using to collect public feedback. You can also sign up for email updates and meeting notices at the end of the survey.
