This Ain’t the Wild West Anymore: Permitting and Compliance in the Methow

May 21, 2025 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

“Have you ever wondered what the rules are around here?” “Do you need a permit to build a road?”; “Can trees be cut close to a river to improve a view?”; “If I see something that concerns me, what can I do?”

Windermere Methow Valley, The Kuehler Law Firm, and Palm Construction invite you to a workshop about how permitting for development works in the Methow Valley.

Join us on May 21st at the Winthrop Barn for a presentation and panel discussion, moderated by the Methow Valley Citizen’s Council. Doors open at 5, presentations from 5:30 – 7 with time for questions.

We will have guests from Okanogan County, Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Department of Ecology, who will inform the community about how permitting works and share information about policies and actions that protect sensitive lands.

This workshop is for landowners, residents, realtors, excavators, builders, landscapers, and neighbors of the Methow—anyone who cares deeply about this place and wants to protect it into the future! It’s all about starting a conversation – we hope to see you there!

Submit questions to the panelists beforehand.
