Great News for Methow Headwaters!

Great news for Methow Headwaters! The U.S. Forest Service has made a recommendation to the Bureau of Land Management to protect the Methow Headwaters landscape from industrial-scale mining. “This is an important and greatly appreciated step forward in protecting the rural character, spectacular landscapes, and clean water that support local prosperity and jobs,” said Maggie Coon of the Methow Headwaters Campaign.

This important step would not have happened without the strong bipartisan support and leadership from Rep. Dan Newhouse and Senators Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray – thank you! Read the full press release – Cantwell, Murray and Newhouse applaud Forest Service recommendation to protect Methow Valley from mining – here.

And, thank YOU for helping us get to this crucial point – every voice does count and your continued support and engagement is crucial as we get closer to receiving a final decision on the proposed mineral withdrawal from Secretary Zinke.

Here is how you can continue to support the protection of Methow Headwaters:

1.) Come out to the public meeting and speak out in favor protecting this treasured landscape. Date TBD – stay tuned!
2.) Thank Congressman Newhouse and Senators Cantwell and Murray for supporting the Methow Headwaters withdrawal.
3.) Follow along and share our effort on social media.
