No matter how old (or young) you are you can make a difference. Your ability to act on climate goes far beyond your wallet, and choosing eco-friendly products. Use your voice to ask your elected officials to act on climate change to protect generations currently alive and future generations.

You can take action right now without even leaving your chair, by submitting comments on climate legislation currently in the Washington State Legislature, learn how here.

Don’t know which bills to support?
The Liberty Bell Youth Climate Lobby Day Participants discussed the following bills with our legislators on Monday:
SB 5947 – Establishing the sustainable farms and fields grant program
SB 5811 – Reducing emissions by making changes to the clean car standard and clean car program
HB 2586 – Concerning the electrification of homes and buildings
SHB 2248 – Expanding equitable access to the benefits of renewable energy through community solar projects
HB 1110 – Reducing the greenhouse gas emissions associated with transportation fuels

The Citizens Council is also asking our members to comment on HB 1261 which would protect critical fish habitat and maintain our riparian ecosystems. This bill just passed the House due to a critical mass of constituent support. Now you can help it pass the Senate by contacting Sen. Brad Hawkins.

The Washington Environmental Council puts together weekly climate legislation roundups for both the House and Senate.
