The 2024 primary, coming up on August 6, is an important election at the local and state level. There are contested races for PUD Commissioner (even if you’re an OCEC customer you can vote in this!), County Commissioner (District 1) and State Legislative District 7. The top two candidates from the primary will move on to the general election in November.
Our political advocacy arm, the MVCC Action Fund (a 501(c)(4)), has worked to learn more about where candidates stand on issues around the land, water, air and climate of Okanogan County. You can read responses to the Action Fund Questionnaire on their website: www.methowaction.org.
