2019 was a year to remember! From legislation to protect the Methow Headwaters to progress on a new Comprehensive Plan to a decisive legal victory for the Open Roads Coalition, progress was made on several levels. To read more about major conservation progress in 2019, and what’s in store for 2020, please check out Methow Valley Citizens Council’s winter newsletter. It’s hot off the press and landing in mailboxes soon!
None of these successes would have been possible without the steadfast participation from MVCC members and supporters. Your voice was heard through thousands of letters, calls, and attendance at public meetings. MVCC represented your voice at countless meetings – from community halls in the Methow to capitol buildings in Olympia and DC. We are deeply inspired by those of you who show up time and again when it truly counts!
Most recently, many of you showed up to the most of a generous match opportunity from outdoor retailer Patagonia. While the match opportunity has now ended, you helped raise over $48,000 – which will be matched dollar for dollar for a total of $96,000! This will go a long way toward helping protect our valley’s land, air, water, wildlife, and climate. THANK YOU!!
And if you haven’t yet had a chance to renew your membership to MVCC, now is a great time! 2020 is a great year to commit to becoming an involved and active Methow Citizen!
P.S. Save the date of Thursday, January 16th from 4-6 pm for MVCC’s Open House and Happy Hour! Help us ring in a new year of activism in 2020! |
