October 17, 2019Keeping Your Cool in Smoke Season: Community Conversation
November 5, 2019
Throughout the month of October, you have the opportunity to help the Methow become a climate-adapted community. Given the dramatic increase in local effects from climate change, such as enduring fire seasons and water shortages, the time is ripe for an increased focus on local climate organizing. Methow Valley Citizens Council is working to make that happen.
MVCC is convening community leaders from many sectors of our community – from local government to high school youth (and many others) – to develop a climate action plan for the Methow Watershed. As a result, this fall, a Methow Climate Action Task Force is convening public workshops to identify and prioritize meaningful actions for climate action in the valley.
Your support will ensure that by early 2020, the Methow Valley will have a long-overdue action plan that helps us adapt to a changing climate and be part of the long-term global solution. |
