Let’s work together for clean air!

Have you noticed that the winter air quality in Twisp has gotten much worse?

Do you or someone you care about have a hard time breathing some days?

Replacing an old woodstove with a new efficient one can result in a 10-fold reduction in particulate matter released into our air!  Methow Valley Citizens Council (MVCC) has partnered with the Washington State Department of Ecology and North Valley Lumber in a unique program to help folks who qualify to RECEIVE A NEW WOODSTOVE, INSERT, OR HEAT PUMP FREE OF CHARGE!

To qualify you must:

  • Own a home located in the Methow Valley (renters encouraged to talk to their landlords)
  • Have a household income of less than $45,000
  • Provide a valid photo identification and proof of current address and income
  • Use a non-EPA certified or pre-2000 wood stove or insert as your primary source of heat

To apply for this amazing opportunity:

  • Call 509-997-0888 to request an application, or
  • Pick up an application at Room One in Twisp or the MVCC office (305 E. Methow Valley Hwy between the Eagles and the Laundromat)
  • Email MVCC@mvcitizens.org
