Climate Initiative Gathers Momentum

I-1631, also know as the Protect Washington Act, will be on the November ballot!

I-1631 will help protect the health of Washington residents by decreasing pollution and build a cleaner future by implementing a carbon fee program that taxes large-scale carbon polluters.

The Yes for I-1631 Campaign gathered 375,000 signatures – “one of the highest number of signatures ever gathered on a Washington State ballot initiative,” according to the campaign.
MVCC mobilized more than 20 volunteers and engaged more than 370 residents in our signature drive for I-1631.

MVCC is committed to fighting climate change at the local level and assisting with the I-1631 campaign is the first step of our strategy to combat climate change.
We have just 111 days before the November elections and we need your help.
Now is our chance to create a positive climate legacy for Washington State. We encourage you to discuss the I-1631 campaign with friends, family and neighbors.
