About 200 members, supporters, and friends gathered July 22 to celebrate MVCC’s 50th Anniversary, a milestone honoring five decades of protecting the Methow. From its very origins, MVCC has been fueled by the power of the people, proving that community action, advocacy, and stewardship can triumph against the greatest odds. The celebration brought together founders, longtime leaders, new voices, and supporters from across the region to reflect on how grassroots organizing creates lasting history.

Guests enjoyed a slate of inspiring stories highlighting the ways passionate individuals have stood alongside each other to shape the Methow. The evening featured the premiere of our 50th Anniversary film and special messages from Methow Descendent Mark Miller, Executive Director Rebekah Phillips, attorney David Bricklin, Senator Maria Cantwell (by prerecorded video), and 2026 Red-Tailed Hawk Award recipient Morgan Moomaw. MVCC board-member-turned-Program-Director Lorah Super emceed the event.
